Today I just discovered that “the cobrasnake,” website is still in operation. This is pretty amazing to me, because I haven’t visited this site since probably my sophomore year in college, which was probably the last time I thought constant parties, pizza, PBR, and other things that start with P or have nostalgic retro logos were the stuff upon which happy lifestyles were built....
Katie Couric's Palin Effect
It would not be an overstatement to say that Couric’s two-part interview with Sarah Palin in October changed the course of the election. Not in its final result, perhaps, but certainly in sharpening opinion around the polarizing figure of the Republican vice-presidential nominee. “An interview like that doesn’t come along very often,” Couric says now. “It was sort of...

Bristol is due today! →
What an exciting day! Bristol Palin is supposedly DUE today! Even though I completely forgot that she was actually really pregnant as soon as it became more entertaining to watching her mother completely derail John McCain, I am excited to remember that she will actually give birth, and she’s getting that out of the way soon.
The information comes from an interview with Bristol’s...
Sparks is getting discontinued →
Sparks and Atomic Records BOTH being discontinued all at once - that’s like my entire high school experience, up in flames, pretty much at the same time, because drinking Sparks and hanging out at Atomic Records sometimes went hand in hand. Clearly, I was where it was at in high school. (no).
Area Woman Becomes Republican Vice Presidential...
“WASILLA, AK—In a dramatic capper to a year that already saw her son’s hockey team go to district finals, a successful remodeling of the den, and her scoring of front-row tickets to a traveling production of the Broadway smash hit Les Misérables, Wasilla resident and former beauty queen Sarah Palin, 44, was chosen as the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee. The mother of five,...

Burger King releases Beef-Scented Cologne? →
…because they saw a demand for it? At least it is only $4, and it will endear you to dogs everywhere. Seriously, does anyone need to buy this? No.
I have just finished finals and come home for winter break for the last time, unless something really weird happens, like I fail all my classes and have to do the whole year over again next year.
For whatever reason, I find the time after finals especially hard. Coming down from excessive hours of binge-thinking, sleeping rolled up in a bed without sheets, living off coffee and those noodle...

Atomic Records closing in February 2009 →
notemily:
Sadness. Though I shouldn’t be surprised—I, for one, haven’t bought a CD in over a year.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Possibly embarrassingly, this made me cry. Atomic Records represents so much of what I associate with growing up in Milwaukee. One of my friends and I used to ceremoniously hit up Atomic virtually every week on “New Music Tuesday.” I AM ACTUALLY REALLY SAD.
This is very exciting to me
